Benevolate for Synagogues
Dues, school, yahrzeit, and the ask on the same record, built for synagogue work generic CRMs flatten.
Your work is connected
Here is what your staff deals with every week, why disconnected tools get in the way, and how Benevolate makes the whole operation easier to run.
Validated in congregations
The four congregations we work with directly did not get a generic CRM with a Jewish label. We spent the last 2.5 years speaking with more than 50 synagogues, taking input from more than 20, and sitting with staff on the workflows they use every day, then building those into Benevolate.
Accounting
Early accounting could post a payment. It could not describe how a synagogue actually books it, revenue category to chart of accounts, deposit bank, invoice allocations, refunds, and a journal they can export or send to QuickBooks. We sat with those teams and added the sub-features they already run, instead of asking them to flatten the books to fit the software.
Daily operations
The same loop covered the rest of the operation: households and memberships, dues and pledges, yahrzeits and lifecycle, religious school, events, pastoral notes, and the communications that go out from the same record. If staff use it on a Tuesday, it belongs in the system, not in a side spreadsheet.
Core workflows
Households, not contacts. School, dues, yahrzeit, and pastoral care are not add-ons. They are the week.
Members, parents, donors, and students sit on the household, not four lists with similar names.
See what is owed, what posted, and which households still have a balance.
Enrollment, attendance, billing, and family communication on the same people.
Dates and rituals stay on the record instead of in a binder or a side calendar.
Registration, seats, and the household that reserved them stay together.
Care notes and communications by household, member type, school grade, or donor status.
What changes
Cross-module questions are possible because the household is already connected.
Prioritize the conversation with the full picture in one place.
Assign follow-up or send a re-engagement note from the same record.
Stop reconciling four systems to understand one family.
Modules that matter
Each module is here because of a job on this page, not because every Benevolate feature needed a tile.
Reporting / AI
Open balances, school attendance, giving, and who has gone quiet, from the household file, not a reconstructed workbook.
Implementation
Import what you already have. Configure around how you actually work. Train the people who will use it. Then launch.
Households, dues, school, yahrzeits, and gifts land where staff will use them.
Membership types, billing, school, and permissions around how the congregation works.
Sit with the people who run dues, school, and the front office.
Tuesday work happens in Benevolate, not in the side spreadsheet.
Bring the Tuesday work: dues, school, yahrzeits, and the household that sits under all of it. We’ll show a congregation running in one system.
